1) what you will be using the tablet for. list any features you need, such as g-sensor, gps, bluetooth, Adobe Flash, or any specific apps
The tablet will be used as Kiosk. It will be locked down and will run a single application. The application will receive ads and content from a server. I need the tablet to have a sim slot for GPRS/3G capacity. I know that most tablets are 3G capable with external dongle, but those are expensive in longer run hence I don't want to go with those.
I am looking to import/buy 20 such tablets for pilot and if it works well I'll be getting more. I am not sure what kind of duty will be involved in importing from China to India. if someone can share their experience it will be great too.
Here is what I need:
1) Display: 7.0 inch capacitive touch screen (5-point), Resolution: 800 x 480
2) CPU: I need help here. The application I will run is not very heavy.
3) Operation system: Android 4.0. Even lower will work for me
4) Memory RAM: DDR2 512MB . For running one application 256MB should be enough.
5) NAND Flash: 4GB
6) Support TF card up to 32GB - Not needed
7) Support WIFI: 802.11 b/g - Required
8) Support G-sensor, 360 degree menu rotate - Not required but I guess its a bundled feature in most tabs anyway.
9) Audio: Speaker + headphone + stereo Microphone
Important - SIM with GPRS/3G capability. Calling not needed.
Rest mentioned below are not needed, but I guess they will be a standard feature too.
10) Interface: 3.5mm audio jack, TF Card slot, DC IN, Mini 5-pin USB
11) Video file format: AVI, WMV, RM, RMVB, MKV, 3GP, MP4, MOV, TS, TP, VOB
12) Audio file format: MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, APE, OGG, FLAC
13) Image file format: JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG
14) Support E-BOOK format: TXT, HTML, PDF, WORD, PPT
15) Software: Word, Excel, Power point and E-mail, MSN, ES file explore, Document to go, Youtube, QQ, Google browser
16) Power Adapter: 100-240V Input, DC 5V Output
2) how much you are willing to spend
Minimum. 100-150$. Although I will increase my budget if only 'chinese/illegal' tablets make it in to this budget.
3) if you have an idea, what the size of the tablet should be

4) how much you know about Android, or just whether or not you are computer literate
Fair enough. Not used it personally but I am more than an literate, just not an android user.
