I am completely new to Tablets and Android.

Where is the best place to search for apps which will open Microsoft created documents such as (Word) .doc and .docx

Also (Xcel) .xls (spreadsheet)

Welcome to the forum. There are many threads here about office apps so try a forum search. Also search the Play store. A couple to get you started are Documents to Go and Office Suite Pro.
