My android 1.6 budget flytouch (wmt2.1.2_105) has this terrible thing where if you want to change brightness from the default 100% it will go dark-black. As you can't see anything anymore you have two options from there: either you have the terrible luck to remember where to touch the screen as to make it back to 100% or most likely you'll have to install a new OS.
This is my experience. Did anyone find a solution to circumvent that and make the adjustment work? It's a shame one cannot save battery by lowering the level of brightness.
