cd burning and ripping acer tablet

has anyone tried buying an external CD burner for the Acer tablet? I want to figure out how to burn or rip CDs without hooking up with computer or other device

At present, this is a no go. Firstly, external CD rom support on android tablets are, at best, hit or miss, in regards to the external drive being recognized. Secondly, even if the CD rom is identified correctly by your tablet, there is currently no burning tools available. This could change in the future, but tablets are designed primarily for internet media consumption. With google/amazon/Sony/best buy cloud services all selling music and being supported on android (or very soon to be, if not already) there's little incentive for any major developer or manufacturer to bother with CD roms for android.
