Here's a bit of news from yesterday that we meant to post but it slipped through the cracks! Thanks for your patience.

We have an interesting and potentially very useful new app/service to show you guys! Have you ever dreamed of being able to be more productive on your Android device? Could you get more done if you could run Microsoft Office on your Android tablet, but are disappointed by the few clunky options out there? CloudOn changes that immediately! This new app makes using Microsoft Office on your Android device easy and functional. It simply requires you to have a device that is Honeycomb or above, including Ice Cream Sandwich. Here's a cool side benefit... It even allows you to use Adobe Reader too! Here's the full press release below:

CloudOn Brings the Ultimate Mobile Productivity Workspace to Android Tablets, Complete with Google Drive Integration

CloudOn now lets users create, edit, share and save Microsoft Office and Adobe files on the world’s two most popular mobile tablet platforms

Palo Alto, Calif. – May 9, 2012 –– Mobile productivity leader, CloudOn, is announcing the launch of its popular workspace on Android, allowing tablet users in the US, UK and Canada to create, edit, save and share Microsoft Office and Adobe documents while on the go. The company is also announcing integration with Google’s new cloud-storage solution, Google Drive, adding to its cloud storage service options, Dropbox and Box. Today’s launch on Android brings CloudOn’s powerful productivity tool to the second largest consumer and enterprise tablet market, expanding on the company’s vision to create the most comprehensive and ubiquitous mobile productivity workspace.

CloudOn for Android lets users easily edit Microsoft Office documents from the palm of their hand. Users have access to all Microsoft Office features, including track changes in Word, manipulating pivot tables in Excel and viewing PowerPoint slideshows in full presentation mode from a tablet. Users can also display, edit or create charts, insert formulas, change formatting, spell check, or insert comments into any Microsoft Office document.

CloudOn also supports Adobe PDF files – from simple forms to complex 3D documents – along with a universal image viewer that lets users access virtually any image file ranging from raw Photoshop images to everyday files like PNG, JPEG and GIF.

To further enable mobile productivity, the app includes fast and easy email integration that lets users send emails and attachments with a single tap and without ever leaving the app.

CloudOn is custom build for the Android platform and fully optimized for Android Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich tablets, version 3.1 and higher, making its comprehensive mobile productivity workspace available to millions of Android users. CloudOn transforms tablets into productivity tools by allowing users to work within the files and applications they need most and save them directly to leading cloud storage providers Dropbox, Box and Google Drive.

“For Android tablets to become a comprehensive mobile productivity solution, it's critical for users to not only be able to review, but create, edit, save and easily share Microsoft Office and Adobe documents,” said Milind Gadekar, co-founder and CEO of CloudOn. “By extending CloudOn to the second-largest tablet platform, we continue on our mission to bridge the fragmentation of information, applications and mobile devices."

CloudOn first launched on iOS in January and was quickly one of the most popular business and productivity tools on the market, becoming the no.1 free iPad app in Apple’s App Store within hours of its release. This April, the Company released a major upgrade to the app with version 2.0, adding integration with Adobe, the universal image viewer, and integration with Box – a favorite among enterprise users. Integrating with Google’s leading mobile and storage products – Android tablets and Google Drive – was a natural next step in continuing to build out the most comprehensive mobile productivity tool on the market.
