Connecting S7 to AT&T....I know its been discussed BUT I still need help

hi all, im new here but have been all over this site today looking for help. i got my s7 in the mail today, popped my SIM in and tried to make a call. no luck. it says i have service (at&t) when i click on the service bars. I set up the APN to the specs ive found on this site.
now, when i have wifi off and data services on, i can see that i have EDGE.
i can access the internet via edge
i can send and recieve texts via edge
when i dial a number, as soon as it dials, the call ends
when i recieve a call, i answer it and the call ends
so my question is this...how can i have data but not voice? i havent been able to find an answer on this site so i was helping maybe someone had an idea. this is my first android device so im not too familiar with it...anything will help

actually now im confused, because i rebooted and can recieve calls but cant make calls

I would recommend following all the steps prior to the phone settings, but just the phone settings should get you
up and running.
