Date and Time screwy with Samsung Note 8

Ok. I've looked all over the place online and just found this forum. Last year I got my wife a Samsung GT-N5110. It was having seriously bad battery draining issues. I thought it was because she didn't have enough memory so I popped in a micro SD card. Still no joy, so I replaced the battery. Ever since then, she has constant sync issues (like several times a day) and the date and time keeps reverting back to December 2012.

What can I do to remedy this? It's driving her (and therefore me) insane.

Make sure that Automatic date and time is checked, in settings.

There is nothing to indicate "automatic" in settings. Now what?

Open settings, scroll down to date and time. Open date and time, should be the first option.
