I own an HCL ME Y2 &inch androiid 4 tablet - My fisrt my only and my most recent foray into the foiemnd of android equipment

We do not have Google play installed on our tablets and instead have access to the HCL ME Slide market

I have downloaded a free application (apk) file which i installed (actually it installed automatically)

What i need to know is whether deleting the downloaded file is the same as uninstalling the program and if so how do i go about doing both these tasks?

Thanks

On most tablets, a long press on the app will either bring up a menu with a delete option or a trash can that you can drag and drop the app into. Either one is the same as uninstalling the program.

The .apk file you downloaded is like a setup.exe or a .msi file on Windoze. You can delete this file after installing and it will still work.

To uninstall an app, go to Settings - Apps - All - App Name - Uninstall.

The latter will NOT remove a downloaded APK file, just uninstall the app from your system.
