Did I get a good tablet?

Hey all.

First post here, I hope to be posting a lot more and learn a lot too

I just bought this yesterday:

HAIPAD MID701 Android 2.1 Tablet 7.0 Inch Touch Screen Telechips TCC8902 256M RAM with Wi-Fi/ Webcam

I mainly plan on using it to read pdf's, but I'm not going to mind checking my email and facebook

So is it a good tablet?

I searched, but are there any instructions on how to root/flash the firmware?

I recently bought a haipad (MID701) and was wondering if I should root my device, and what rooting my device will allow me to do?
