Hello,

I've been getting an error 498 when updating an application. Some research suggests that there is some kind of cache memory problem, but it doesn't make much sense.

I tried to use the Cache Fixer app (Rede), but it opens with an error message (environment: null??) and can't wipe the cache (IOexception) Is this the wrong app?

Specifically, the device is the Huawei S7 Slim 201W, OS 2.2.2

The app is called EWTN from EWTN Religious Catalogue

Sorry, I cannot root the device, so maybe there is another way to clear the cache?

Try sideloading by downloading the .apk to your pc, and transfer to your micro SD card. Using Astro file explorer to find the .apk on your SD card and install it from there.
Error 498 means that the cache is too small to handle the size of the download file for your app.
