Facebook - Redirect to adult site

My wife clicked on Facebook to view postings while we were on vacation. She logged off and when she logged back on she was directed to a site with an Adult Site Warning.
I cleared the Chrome Cache but Facebook is not accessible. Is there an antivirus I can run to clean up the facebook app (I can't delete it unfortunately!)

This is very strange. So she checked via the website using the Chrome browser instead of the FB app? Did she click a link to open the page from email for example? If so it was probably a fishing email. Could there have been a typo in the url? Frequently, scammers will get sites with similar urls to major sites so that they can scam people who make typos.

Sorry. She used the Facebook app. I cleared the cache for Chrome thinking the app probably used it to access Facebook.

Where was the FaceBook app downloaded from? The Play Store or Amazon? If not it could be a malware copy. You should be able to uninstall the app and get a legitimate copy from either of those sources. On ICS long hold the FB app in the app drawer and drag it to the App Info (at the top of the screen) now it should open the app and allow you to uninstall. Alternatively you can get to the app through settings>apps, find it and uninstall.

Well since I don't have an Acer I can't confirm that but even preloaded 3rd party apps should be able to be disabled if not uninstalled. You can certainly clear the FB app data and cache if nothing else. Have you checked the app again to see if it is actually redirecting or if it was a onetime thing with maybe a different cause?

Facebook is one of the preloaded apps. Unfortunately, by getting rid of one of those apps it may cause issues with OTA updates. Have you tried to hide the app? You can uninstall any updates.

I don't use facebook or twitter - waste of precious time IMO. I have removed the app from tne main screen and have to to my apps list to see it.
