Forgot unlock pattern. How do I reset the tablet?

This is my 13 yr old niece tablet. Our internet was down for a while so she wasnt using it and now that the internet is back working she can't remember the pattern. Can I just reset it? Make it like new? How?

With your google account, you can easily reset it. Enter your passcode incorrectly five times and then click the new button pop up that says“Forgot Passcode? Or Forgot Pattern? Or something like that”, and then you should be asked for input the Google Account name and password , after you have gotten in, you can set a new password.
