FT3 Randomly Powers Off

Hi, can everyone help please?
Having got the tablet to a point of where I was happy with it, its started to power off unexpectedly. Sometimes brought on if I touch the screen (especially top right "back touch button", whilst holding the rear of the tablet). Despite the battery showing 100% I can only get it to power up when the mains supply is attached, even then it may not completely boot - failing and vibrating until reset.

I have tried a firmware upgrade several times and it completes without fail, despite touching the screen. Though it then often fails to boot or stay powered thereafter...

It suggests to me that there is something amiss inside but I do not want to investigate due to voiding the warranty or creating any damage. Any suggestions please?

I've had the Hybrid ROM running successfully several days:

I hope this isn't the problem

Is it worth trying an official release, say:

...sorry need to replace DOT!!! Couldn't paste URL :(

Thanks,

Tim.

PS the RHS speaker clicks a lot when it powers off too...

Do not know if it is a battery (hardware) issue. However I suggest you to flush the battery a couple of times (Running it to zero. And recharge it back to 100%, then run it to zero. Then recharge it again). "Battery" needs training/tuning. :) I believed that you just got your FT3 less than a week.

After that, install "Juice Defender" to control the battery draining by this app.

Hope it helps.

Maildrop, thanks I'll give it a go (if I can keep it on that long). No I've had it about a month, but been running the Hybrid Rom for a few days. It had been charging fine and even with the mains connected it'll shut down. Strange that it appears to be rock solid when doing an upgrade, even if I poke the screen (thankfully) - I'll try the latest "official release" just in case.

Cheers.

Just to close this, ran the FT out of battery overnight. When trying to boot it in the morning it gave a battery low warning that I'd never seen before, so I that rules out the battery!

Loaded the official Beta release... didn't help so its on its way back - I guess its a H/W fault, assume when reflashing the faulty piece of circuitry in question doesn't get enabled, allowing upgrades without a problem???. Hope the replacement lasts a bit longer!!!

PS I'll get Juice Defender on the replacement :)
