I just got the dawa d9 from merimobiles

Just like to find out if gingerbread will be available soon as I have seen it running gingerbread

Hi,

I purchased mine from Digibites on eBaY and asked about Android 2.3. He stated that although 2.3 is available for the D9 the Android Market is not yet functional.

Created a fast mirror for: Official v0627 Android 2.3.3 Apad G10 ROM , enjoy
Request: can anyone with good linux knowledge install this ROM, adjust language to English, clean up and clone it with winimage or other (img) tool so we have a 4gb cloned SD card image?

They are also uploading the 4gb file on Hiapad but i'm affraid this will take a day or two, three ...

Managed to install the 2.3.3 ROM, got into a few problems. Does anyone have the same?

1. Dawa D9 boots but no touch screen functionality
2. Vibration motor keeps running all the time

I can fully see the 2.3.3 desktop with correct resolution but cannot use due to missing touch screen.

Hoping to get some improvement on the ROM, rolled back tot 2.2 for the time being.

Well, unless proven i think 2.2 is still the best solution for the Apad G10. This is what is working on my 2.2

Stable ROM 2.2 with cleaned up chinese apps, Go launcher EX.
Rooted ROM with rootexplorer, rom manager
Wifi working fine
Internal 3G module working fine for many European providers
Market fully working
Gmail fully working
skype fully working
dropbox fully working
evernote fully working
