Going from SD to Internal: Do I still need to root my Nook?

I have been running CM7 quite successfully from an SD card for the past few months. I want to install the latest stable Cyanogen version on the internal memory.

To install CWR, do I still need to root my nook since I have root access from the SD card?

CM7 is rooted, so if you install it you will already be rooted. Nothing further to do. Check here for instructions and make sure you use the latest version of CWR (3.2.0.1): Nook Color: How to Install Cyanogenmod 7.1 | Maurice Mongeon

This is the one I used less than a week ago.

I started with a total wipe, (8+1 reboots) and was at firmware 1.0.0, I'm now on CM7.1 which is Android 2.3.7 @ 1.1Ghz using SetCPU.

Couple of good recs above. Remember to create a bakuo of your ROM and your apps with titanium backup then copy these backups to your PC. Always good to hava a fall back option
