HELP PLEASE TECHINALOGY CHALLENGED MOM.

My daughter bought me this tablet for christmas and i put a pattern code on it. I forgot the code and tried the volume down and power buttons, now i have the android symbol with a triangle with an exclamation point inside it. What do i need to do to fix it. Somebody please help.
