How Many Partitions Normally On Internal Memory?

I want to partition this generic SD card and create a Linux swap. Is there an a2109 kernel that supports this? Also what do think would be a good size for the Linux swap? 4gb? Is that overkill?
I plan on using link2sd unless the ROM/kernel supports this?
Any suggestions?
PS this is my kernel it is a day early and had screen glitches I opened tablet and reseated ribbon cables.
