Huawei cannot connect to ad hoc wifi

I am new to this site and hope to learn a lot!!

I have purchased a Huawei S7 tablet for my wife: an awesome machine! I have only one concern; I cannot get it to connect to an ad hoc wifi connection...I have setup this connection before and used my iPod Touch to connect with it and it worked fine. The tablet however cannot connect.

Any ideas?
