Identifying and flashing this generic beast.

I bought this tablet off ebay a short while ago. Fresh out of the box, it was virtually unusable because of the slow UI and general 'do not want' factor of the sluggish performance. Because it has a green LED and no vibrate, I jumped to the conclusion that it was a BLY-706v1. I decided to flash it with uberoid.

MISTAKE.
Using several versions of HcH's hybrid honeycomb mod, I have come to a conclusion. Options 2, 7 and 8 all boot nicely with wifi, accelerometer and wifi, but the touchscreen refuses to work at all. I have also tried several versions of Vestinious and Modroid to similar degrees of failure. I did on one occasion set the live wallpaper to a sort of process log screen, and this was what happened when I tapped on the screen.

I am scratching my head with this one, and I can only assume it's a problem with either env_boot or my touchscreen is genuinely broken, which it wasn't when I was using the stock firmware. (Plus that would really piss me off considering that I can now no longer return it, seeing that I have now voided the sellers warrantee like a toddler with a ball-peen.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated, so if anyone could point me in the right direction, either to a usable firmware or to a suitable brick wall which I can bang my head against, that would be great. :)

EDIT:
I have found out that the number on the back of the tablet is indeed the model number.

Of course, typing the serial number into google yielded nothing, so i had to change the format around in order to find it (Serial HJ-V713####...etc and Model number HJ-713-V. The downside is that I still have no idea which ROM to use. There are loads of varieties of VIA 8650 tablets, and option 11 doesn't seem to work, it just hangs on 'uberoid'.
A very strange thing happened when I tried to use the stock env_boot from a BLY-706v1, the accelerometer didn't work. What's even stranger is that using the env_boot from a BLY-706v3 made the screen flip so that it was upside down, adjusting to the orientation to remain the wrong way up. And, no, the touchscreen was still not working.
