Inability to add, move or delete desktop icons

Hello all, if you run into the issue like where I did, I found a solution from here:

If you attempt to add a desktop, move or delete a desktop icon and you cannot, the issue may be that you are pressing too hard. I discovered the issue by attempting to move an icon to the trash can. Everytime I attempted to slide the icon over to the trash, the app. would be activated. Try again by pressing lightly and that should help!!

Was worried I had some dead screen issues.
