Hello folks,

Pls let me know if anybody owns an Infotmic I10Y hwver(13.4.0.1).
7 inch single touch resistive touch screen,
1 ghz processor,
256 mb ddr2 ram,
2 gb nand flash, with micro sd card slot (i have 8gb micro sd card inside),
0.3mp front facing camera,
mini hdmi,
mini usb,
otg,
3.5 mm standard stereo jack

Two buttons
  1. power button
  2. back button
Came with custom Android 2.1 update 1 ROM with chinese apps and other stuff which i flashed to a different ROM using the update file (.ius) from Infotmic with the wrap tool.
However, the updated ROM still says version Android 2.1.:(

Any ideas how can it be upgraded to 2.2 or 2.3 ...???
The device is pretty neat and works well ... just the update which is required.

Please help.

Really confused since -

I10Y = 10" but noted above is reference to 7" screen but this model.
I7Y-MP1 = 7"

Also, it is interesting to note that the Hardware ID's "hwver" is different from update (*.ius) FileNum thus leading to the same conclusion that many of these update files (except for the U0 image) are interchangeable.

Wrap Information:
Code:
Company: None
Board: I10Y
FileNum: 0.5.0.1.0.3
Size: 72MB

Image List:
U0 (232 KB)
UBOOT (216 KB)
RD (159 KB)
LK (2394 KB)
ADD_USER (4.5 KB)
ADD_AS (70731.5 KB)

Using the information above with the Hardware ID "hwver" 0.5.0.1 nothing is found however, substituting 13 as the Company identifier making it 13.5.0.1 in the string below - http://222.73.93.45/sysup.php?data=13.5.0.1&vcode=0 returns
Code:
10|[URL]http://222.73.93.45/update/13.5.0.1/I7Y_Android_10.ius[/URL]
which needs to be investigate as to the version (2.1 or 2.2) and what device it will support updating.

Caution! Burning the incorrect update file containing an incompatible U0 image may cause irreparable damage (brick) the tablet.

Thanks for this great info Cfrockit !!!

Also, please let me know if I can use the current U0 with a different set of other files(for use with the expert burn option in wrap tool)
Or any other alternative perhaps ??? (I really dont want to get stuck with this old ROM :( )

Once again thanks a lot for all you time and effort.

Does a compatible U0 with a combination of other files (from different package ) is known to cause a irreparable brick
I wanna give it a try. Please suggest.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It would be an interesting experiment however, NOT aware of a 2.2 update for a 7" InfoTMIC tablet with camera. If one is identified, then the steps are posted in the Sylvania Tablets forum. Can the supplier/distributor provide an update? Some of the tablets with camera option are now shipping with 2.2 http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...i7-android-2-2-tablet-pc-7-inch-infotmic.html however, no response on any updates.

Based on your location you may want to seek one of these devices coming soon to the Education system. Originally posted by mvancil in http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/sylvania-tablets/23930-looks-familiar.html post.
