Okay, I went through this once before when i first got my tab. But can't recall solution.

Ready to try some non-stock ROMs again after recently going back to stock. I installed CWM v08 on my g-tab with TapUI verison 1.2-4349. Now when attempting to boot into recovery I get teh "Booting recovery kernel" message but it just hangs. I can boot into OS fine. Where do I go from here to correct this?

I just ran into this trying to update a friend's G-Tab (I sold mine last year after I got an HP Touchpad). Basically, the CWM .08 is NOT compatible with 1.2 based ROMs. You'll need a newer version of CWM, such as the Team DRH version 5.5.0.4, which can be found here - [RECOVERY - 1.2] ClockworkMod 5.5.0.4 Touch Recovery - TEAM DRH - xda-developers Flash it just like you would the old version, but this one will work.

Just be sure anything you download is a 1.2 base- from CWM to ROMz and beyond...

Enjoy!
