Mysterious Problems

I have an Android MID 7" Tablet that is Brand New !
Model #7206
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7
Android Version 2.33
It worked OK for a couple of days but then things started to happen.
1. When I installed my 8Gb SD card it DOES NOT show the little SD CARD Icon in the UPPER LEFT CORNER, even though I can read all the info on the SD card.
When I REMOVE the SD Card, the little SD Card Icon NOW APPEARS in the UPPER LEFT CORNER and it shows NO INFO from the card. (As if the SD Card is not even in the unit.)
2. I was able to read an E-Book for the first few days and then yesterday I turned it on and now it does NOT even SEE any TXT files when I open the E-Book reader.
3. I installed GingerBreak v1.20 and followed the instructions for installation to the letter ....but it does not appear to be "Rooted" at all.

I performed a "Factory Re-set" but it appears that it made NO DIFFERENCE.
SAME PROBLEMS.

Can ANYBODY HELP ME ??

On many tabs, the sd icon only shows during startup to show its being read, then it goes off. If you go to settings/sd card see if it says mount sd card. If this is lit up its not being read properly. Make sure you unmount sd card at settings before removing if tab is switched on or you may damage the card. Maybe re-formatting and reloading card might help.
