Try SlideMe.org or freewarelovers.com/android for applications. From my readings of the forum you will have to get absolute identification of your particular tablet before even considering flashing.

Yea, I just bought a Yoshima Mid and I'm wondering the same.
It won't play YouTube videos and it had Android 1.7.
