need help to identify tablet and upgrade options

I'm new to tablets. I purchased a used one unseen (maybe my mistake). When it boots it shows a Infotmic logo, then in lower right corner 0.6.1.5(559)
Tablet info under settings is:

It has a port for a GPS, but no antenna
Ethernet jack, HDMI jack, (2) miniDS card ports (marked as TF Card), (2) USB ports, camera.

No BlueTooth that I can tell.
It does have wireless.
There info in the Settings for 3G, but doesn't respond to anything when pressed.

Can anyone tell me the manufacture or brand name of this unit?
Can it be upgraded to Android 2.3 or better? If so, how?
regular Android Market does appear to work.

There's nothing in the settings indicating built in Bluetooth, but if I try to put in a bluetooth device in a USB jack, it recognizes it, but won't connect.

Can this unit be tetherd to a cell phone? If so, what is the best application combo to use?

Can this be successfully rooted? If so, what is the process?

Hopefully someone here can answer most of my noobie questions. Thanks in advance.
