Password Lost ... Locked Out

Wife bought a T100 at a yard sale. It did work once upon a time about 6 months ago. Recently turned it on to fix it for grandkids and it how has a password loaded that I don't have a clue what it might be. Tried a rest back to factory settings but that gave the following results: SD card: update.zip not found & can't open /tmp/recovery.log ... I tend to think this a BIG problem...perhaps bigger than my trashcan can handle!!! Anyone have a suggestion which direction I should go on this thing? ml
