Pocket Planes

Hi I got a cheap coby kyros 7015 running android 4.0. It came with get jar and does not run the google play store. However running a .apk any android can install from an apk. So I manually downloaded the pocket planes apk..it's a free app anyways and it installs fine. However it opens then closes right away with a message saying "unfortunately pocket planes has stopped" .this can't be that complicated its just an app. I know google play would require a root but is there some stupid software on this tablet that automatically closes an app if it isn't from get jar?
