Problems with SlingPlayer app?

I have the Slingplayer app 1.3 downloaded from the Android Market, and when attempting to view my Slingbox feed on my MID7127 via the local network I am experiencing rather hefty stuttering and pausing. I am using a Slingbox AV, which technically isn't supported by the android app, but I have read many accounts of it working just fine, at least over LAN. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem, and about any possible solutions.
