I highly recommend trying this ROM out! After trying nookiefroyo and HC and using phiremod beta 2 for a couple of weeks as my daily driver, I expected compromises for some time yet concerning android development for the nook color.

Well, I flashed UD 3.1.1 using the latest CWR and had no problems. Just like any android phone - none of this sd card business needed... Easy install - absolutely fantastic experience!

Seemingly great battery life, tons of features, everything works except for youtube. Also, there is a slight misalignment in the lockscreen. But these pale in comparison to the smoothness and functionality of this ROM. Check it out for yourself over at udrom.com/forum

Note: Update to Clockworkmod Recovery 3.0.1 or higher before flashing this UD ROM.

Flash ClockworkMod 3.0.1.0 version from CWM recovery > main menu > "install zip from sd card": http://muffinworld.net/android/nookc...mr_3.0.1.0.zip

-------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: UD Tablet roms are different from phone versions. They come with ADWLauncher instead of the usual 3d launcher.

Thanks as was not aware UD was on the NC. Went over to the UD site, but install details are missing, tho the download mentions "Added better installation instructions in the official theme section" ... but couldn't anything other than those pertaining to the ext-type install.

"Better installation instructions" implies there has been confusion and incorrect installs, hence clarification to avoid confusion. So, did you find those "better" instructions and is one supposed to wipe either system, data and/or cache prior to flashing UD 3.1.1?

Don't compare it with Phiremod 2, which is very old now :p

And I am sure you haven't tried CM7 builds. But I agree installation is very simple.

@cvhovey - How to ....
But I suggest you install CM7 build

Thanks, avi! And, yeah, I've flashed a lot of ROMs but find it helps to read the install instructions which seems to be absent for UD.

I've used CM a lot on my D1. And excitedly waiting for cvpcs to do some magic with CM7 for my Droid X. But from what (I think) I've read, I got the impression the NC CM7 builds are not yet ready for day-to-day use?

IMHO they are ready for day to day usage. Till now I haven't found any serious issue. So I suggest you go with it eyes closed :)

If youtube doesn't work how is this rom better than phiremod beta2? Is this rom 2.2, 2.3?

Also do you have a link to this rom or link to more information on this rom?

It's 2.3.3. There is no comparison in smoothness and options. Its a simple CWR install. Its got dozens of options not on phiremod beta 2. I simply love it. I'd love to hear of others experiences.
I admit I did not try CM7. I did try phiremod GB builds and always went back to beta 2.

Ive used cm7 and UD on multiple devices including my nook. Both are very solid and great for daily use.

I usually switch back and forth between the two dependant on who comes out with an update or ehat type of settings im in thd mood for.

You will not be disappointed with either build.

By the change log, this ROM sounds promising. I'll have to do more research before giving a try and I'm still doing work in 2.1 for the forum so this will have to wait. The youtube issues is still an issue for me since in beta2 it worked well. And while there may be no comparison on options, beta 2 is very smooth.
