Rooting a china tablet

I have a chines tablet TOP TPad 701. The touch screen is not responding properly. When I try to type one letter, some other letter appears. All other things are working fine.
I have tried to factory reset using the pin hole on the tablet and also reformating using the main menu (this reformats only SD card). User manual states that I can reformat using the volume button + power on button. Unfortunately there is no volume button for my TPad 701.
Under settings, there is no menu for reformatting.
IT people at the place I work says that the problem with the touchscreen is possibly a hardware error.
Will it help if I were to root the device?
Is there anyway solving my problem like
1. adding wireless keyboard +mouse?
2. using some software to recalibrate the touchscreen?

I am not technically sound in the various aspects of computer technology.

Any help is welcome!

Thanks in advance
