Samsung Launches The Dual-SIM Galaxy Note II In China

Samsung Galaxy Note II is the company’s second phone/tablet hybrid device. It was unveiled in September at the IFA 2012 event in Berlin. This device is selling like hot cakes in most of the Asian and European markets. Samsung already managed to sell 3 million units of this device in just 37 days. Cashing in on the success of the Galaxy Note II, Samsung went a step ahead and announced the dual-SIM variant of this popular phablet.

The Dual-SIM variant of the Galaxy Note II will ship with the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Operating System. This device packs a micro-SIM slot as well as a full-size SIM slot. It comes with radios for GSM 850/900/1, 800/1,900, and WCDMA 850/900/1,900/2100 MHz. Dual-SIM Galaxy Note II will go on sale starting next month in China. There are no major changes in the specs of this device.

Dual-SIM Galaxy Note II comes with the usual 5.5 inch Super AMOLED HD display, sporting a resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels, 1.6 GHz quad-core processor, 8 megapixel rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash, Bluetooth 4.0, S-Pen, S Note, S Planner, Samsung Hub, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory, 64 GB expandable memory, GPS with A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Google Play Store, Wi-Fi Direct, NFC and a 3100 mAh battery.

Dual-SIM Galaxy Note II comes with a price tag of 5699 Chinese Yuan (approx. $900). This device will go on sale from December 3 in China. Samsung has not yet announced the availability of this device for other major markets.

Having two phone numbers on your phone (personal and business) would be one reason. Another would be when you're traveling out of the country, you can have a "local" prepaid SIM for making calls (w/o roaming charges) and still be available to folks who might need to contact you via your normal phone number.
