upgrading android eclair 2.1 to 2.2

hey there everyone, long time lurker, first time poster.

i recently got a haipad from fastcardtech.com []Haipad M702 Metal Body Multi-touch android 2.1 7" wide-touch screen WIFI G-sensor HD 4GB build in 1080P_NOTEBOOK HIPAD_Fastcardtech the world TOP 1 Digital product seller! - Chinese mobile phone

the model number is:
"android for m1"

firmware:
2.1 update 1

kernel version:
2.6.29 #345

build number:
ver.0128.20101213-162721

what i've been trying to figure out is can i upgrade this to android 2.2? i've spent the last five days trying to install the update from haipad.net but the program wont open[not compatible with win 64bit; tried running the program through virtual pc [running win xp] but to no avail :/

if anyone out there can help me, know that you have kept one person from going completely insane.

From what I know hiapad has only released an early beta version if 2.2 which is incomplete so it wouldn't be worth it and if your talking about the 2.1 update then that's a different story

ahh, good thing it didnt work out cause im sure i'd have regret it. how do i update my firmware?
