Used Xoom - Is it 3G or 4G

I just purchased a used Motorola Xoom advertised with 4G on Verizon.

When the unit arrives, will I be able to check/test if the unit is indeed 4G not an old 3G unit ? I’m hoping to determine if the unit was upgraded prior to registering with Verizon and paying them $30.

The unit has ebay purchase projection, so if I was duped I can return for a refund.

If it doesn't have a sim card you will need one to turn it on. There's no way to test for 4g without having the data plan first. You can ensure its on by going to settings/wireless and networks/mobile network and ensure LTE is on.

If you activate the plan its on a month to month basis so if it doesn't have the 4g radio then you can suspend the account.
