I hate to raise your hopes. The processor detail is missing, but it does not look promising. In almost all instances, if you have a tablet with 1.6, it was not fated or slated for 2.2. Maybe 2.1, but not 2.2 Any effort to update to a newer OS will be something like a community build and not from your manufacturer. And these will be for specific tablets, not for general build.
Keep in mind it is NOT like just sticking in a Linux live CD or Windows boot DVD. There are a variety of various CPUs created off of the ARM core, and each are slightly different. You can easily brick your unit by applying the wrong firmware. There are the skilled who can "cook" a different firmware OS to be compatible. But, it may not be the same unit as yours.
Notice I keep typing BUT. Save yourself the potential gnashing of teeth and hole in the wall from your head. Save your money and buy an already capable unit.
These will be available soon based off the Cortex A8 series that will be amazingly inexpensive in comparison.
