This is not meant to be a shill for brand name or a dope slap on your purchase. This is is just a summary of what we at AndroidTablet's Senior Members, Moderators, Super-Moderators and administrators see or experienced by questions. All of these items are valid. Use the following scoring logic to predict your potential for problems.
Scoring
Greater than 7: It is a wonder you have not thrown it away in disgust
5 to 7: You are reading this wondering, how could I have been so dumb
2 to 4: You have issues but are trying to live with it by installing a community firmware
0 to 2: You have issues, but nothing that cannot be lived with

Issues
1. You have no idea what brand or model of your Tablet
2. You paid less than $150 for the tablet
3. You bought the tablet on E-Bay or direct from China vendor
4. The manufacturer/Vendor does not provide any sort of support or pitiful return policy.
5. There does not seem to be any type of Firmware update or even current FW available to download. Only Community Firmwares are available
6. There is not a Community Firmware available
7. Google Market is not pre-installed and functional when first accessed.
8. All of the text is in Chinese or requires a registration license input to access.
9. Some part of the Hardware is non-functional upon arrival or within a week of use.
10.The Tablet OS is not at least Froyo 2.2.1
(BONUS)11. You cannot run a graphic/processor intensive game as simple as Angry Birds without choppiness or lags.

Great list. If you are at all unsure of which tablet to get take these considerations to heart in order to prevent heart ache later.
