webcam dissapeared and can't take pictures with the camera

I've been having ongoing problems with my Archos 10.1 8 Gb tablet.
how can I activate the webcam, I can't seem to find it ?

Also when I go to camera I take pictures and Ican hear the shutter operating - but no pictures. What am I doing wrong ?
