Why wont apps work on acer tablet?

It seems like every app i want wont work on the acer a500. If the os is the same, i dont understand why a app will work on some androids but not on the tablet. i wanted to download an app called MYSMS. this would allow me to read and reply to text messages from my tablet. The store wont let me download it because it says it is not for the A500. Is there any type of work around?

MYSMS works on my a500 and my sons a200. install mysms on your phone and then install mysms tablet beta on your tablet.

how did you download it? The market isnt letting me download it becase it says it is not for the a500

It opens fine in the play store. i even uninstalled,rebooted then went back in to playstore and still can download.
