Got my update to jb 4.2 last night and my wifi shuts down now. I can go to my homepage and it loads fine. Then I can open a new page on the same tab and the wifi shuts down. Any ideas?

It is possible an app that was there before has caused a problem due to the upgrade. Have you tried completely powering down and back up again. You could also try a hard reset, (not a factory reset, though that may end up as an option)?
The hard reset instructions can be found here (look toward the bottom of the hard reset instructions for 4.2 as it changed)
