wm8650 wont switch on

Hi im new to this but hope someone can help, my son receieved a wm8650 tablet for xmas, took it out box switched it on just said upgrading for 6 hrs, i checked a few forums tried formatting sd card, upgrading etc but nothing seems to work its now stuck on black screen with green led light any help would be appreciated thanks

on the back of the device is a tiny hole. insert a cocktail stick, you will hear a click and hold in for 20 seconds, the device will reboot - Do not use anything metal
