Hello ,

Just bought the Sony S1 tablet.
There's one thing I don't understand : when I go to memory , I see 2 things :
1 ) Internal memory ( usb memory) 8,92 GB
2) Internal memory 3,67GB

Is there another partion on the tablet because this gives only 12,86 gb ?

Hope someone can help me.

Thanks.

Greetings

The rest is used by the operating system. This is a typical misconception about the storage available to Android users. Since android takes up about 4GB of space a 16GB tablet only has about 12GB left for the user. Nothing to worry about :)

The other thing to consider - a 16 GB tablet should have 16,000,000,000 bytes of data. Computers do not know how to do 10 based math, so they use 1024 instead of 1000 to go from one unit to the next. This yields about 15 GB (16,000,000,000/1024/1024/1024) to begin with. THis is the same reason a 1TB drive formats to 931 GB.

Also, unlike Windows, your space is not all on the main (C:/) partition. The space is partitioned into a few pieces. They system partition is usually bigger than it needs to be, but this is to allow for updates to future versions of Android if they are slightly bigger.

It is normal to have ~13 GB of usable space on a 16 GB tablet.
