ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) When, If Ever?

Just wondering if Vizio will give us ICS for the Vizio 8" Tablet

My guess is only after the possibly ICS 10" tablet is released to the public. It is not stated that the 10" will be ICS, but it is the smartest choice for Vizio.

There was talk about it around 6 months ago but was probably just that, talk. Would be awesome though.

Not likely at all. Android itself has moved on to a second revision of Jelly Bean so I don't see Vizio bothering to go back and update any further.

Chatted with a Vizio Rep last week and asked them if there were plans to upgrade the VTAB1008 to either JB or ICS. The answer was (and I paraphrase) "No plans at this time, but that doesn't mean we won't in the future". I got the same answer when asking about enabling root on the VTAB1008. Take it for what you will.

Did you get any sense they might be taking a poll. If enough people expressed interest they might move JB a little higher up the "maybe" list?
