I have s stock of Keyboard for my cheap China Pad. It costs about US$20 from market. I try to connect it with my new S7. Greatly, it works with S7. Because it is Mini-USB connector, so I use one converter Mini-Micro USB (US$1). Most keys are working with S7 Tablet.

Hey, is this for real??? Is this just a generic USB keyboard? I'd love to be able to do this. Anyone else made it work?

hey looks great!
I just have oe question: where did you buy the mini-micro-usb adapter?

Don't mean to sound skeptical but the S7 doesn't have USB Host that I know of, and also couldn't power the keyboard, so it would need batteries. It couldn't function as a USB slave keyboard I don't think. I would love something like this to work of course.

The S7 can function as an OTG host. I haven't had any luck with keyboards, but it seems like it should be possible. See my posts of a couple weeks ago about hooking up external USB storage, http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...ng-usb-external-hard-disc-flash-memory-2.html.

This is interesting, but the problem of power still exists. The flash drive makes sense, the same drivers that allow the S7 to read/write to the sd card should work. Unless you can find a keyboard that doesn't draw its power from USB, using batteries, I just don't think this is going to work.

Well, even though the USB port powers the flash drive, maybe it can't supply enough current for a keyboard. And maybe the drivers aren't there either. Too bad taitony hasn't supplied us with further details. If his really works I'd probably spring for one. Meantime we'll be waiting for you kerndlboy!

You bet, I would buy one as well!

I had fogotten--dmesg seems to indicate my S7 is talking to the keyboard (which also has a builtin hub). Which leads me to believe power is not the issue:

Hmmm, don't know what to think of this site, they seem to have an original S7 battery, at least they picture one, yet they are trying to sell an iPhone capacitive stylus for use with the S7. They may just be confused between the S7 and the S7 Slim I suppose, and I didn't see any mention of a USB keyboard case for the S7 either. I actually would like to get a second battery, but I'm not convinced this is the place to get it.

just to give you an update: I'm still waiting for the keyboard, the adapter arrived today but I have to pick it up from the post office.
Hopefully the keyboard arrives within the next 1-2 weeks.

All the best

I for one am really looking forward to hearing if this works.
