Canadian company Kobo is believed to be working on a new 10-inch Android tablet, according to a posting revealed on a benchmarking website last month.
The site, GLBenchmarks, carried an entry for a Kobo Arc 10 HD that offered up a 10-inch display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels.
Specific details are still unknown, although suggestions for internal specs include a 1.8GHz, Nvidia Tegra 4 ARM Cortex A9 quad-core processor and Google's 4.2 Jelly Bean OS on board.

The Kobo Arc 10HD, unveiled today, is built for an ultimate multimedia experience. Powered by a 1.8 GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4 chip and 2 GB of RAM and topped with a 10-inch 2560×1600 display, the Arc 10HD will not only deliver a great reading experience but will also be able to take advantage of the games and apps available on Google Play Store. It is also equipped with a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, dual stereo speakers, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and Miracast connectivity for multimedia and streaming activities. Battery life can last from 9.5 hours to 10 days depending on use. The Arc 10HD comes pre-installed with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
For those who want something more handy without skimping too much on hardware, the Arc 7HD offers an alternative. This tablet runs on a 1.7 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and 1 GB of RAM. Even with a smaller 7.0-inch size, the Arc 7HD still offers a decent viewing experience with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels and 1080p video playback capability. Like the 10HD, the Arc 7HD also runs Android 4.2.2. Kobo has also unveiled the Arc 7, a tablet made for beginners, with significantly lower specs and a slightly lower price tag. The Arc 7 houses a 1.2 GHz quad-core MTK8125 chip with 1 GB of RAM. Unlike its HD counterpart, the Arc 7′s 7.0-inch display only supports a resolution of 1024×600.
The Arc 10HD is available only in black for a price of $399.99, with no details on storage capacity. The Arc 7HD also comes in black but has two options, a 16 GB model for $199.99 and a 32 GB model for $249.99. The Arc 7, which probably also comes only in black, is priced at $149 with 8 GB of internal storage.

Looks like an interesting alternative.
