[ROM] Ployer/Generic 7" A13 [ Android 4.0.4 Hyper Edition ]

Dear, I got this Boxchip A13 unbranded from chinabuye,http://www.**************/a139-9-ca...id-4-0-8gb-hdd-a13-1-0ghz-cortex-a8-tablet-pc, similar to the Momo9, the problem I got on it is that playstore don't allows to install any app using googleplay/market app. After some search I got some thing, the tablet have a folder /oem with a oem.prop file. Inside the file have a simple line "persist.sys.locale=Asia/Shangai". Some other forum says that in build.prop you should change the country, locale and language to ocidental like America/New_York, us, en.
But the /oem folder is a link to the mount point /dev/block/nandi that is a cramfs ro,relatime partition/image, that could not be modified.
The solution some told me was to get the original ROm and modify it or get a modified for a branded tablet with the same configs/spec of mine.
My question is, your Rom could serv to my tablet. Its a 9 inch Boxchip allwinner A13 1.0Ghz 521MB DDR3 8GB capacitive.

Synced ROM to latest android downstream, all mirrors have been updated.

Amazing work! By the way, how was it that the GPU was updated to r2p5? Mali website indicate that the latest release is r3p0-04rel0 and the previous one was r2p4-02rel1?

Good catch, I just ran the downstreams patch notes through a translator online, perhaps its a simple mistranslation or a spelling error of sorts, but even after reading the SVN again it still says 5 on the end, so either they typo'd or its a private/unofficial driver perhaps the last for the 2.X branch?

Hi tragidy, I want to try this ROM on my generic A13-MID tablet. Is there any possibility to make a backup of my current ROM before flashing? And what about CWM recovery, can it be installed on this tablet? Using nandroid backup seems a good choice to backup current ROM. I will probably try your ROM anyway, but it wouldn't hurt to have a backup. And btw thanks for sharing your work.

You can backup the rom using a CWM or similar for a port, or you can do an ADB image dump, these a13's really do not have any official CWM however I have indeed had CWM run on an a13 before.

In any case a CWM question is not anything to do with the rom, this backup/recovery operation would be program specific or bootloader specific as with all android devices is the users end not the rom.

I will not be releasing any clockwork mod for this image unless official support is added for Sun5i chipsets from the developers along with 4.0.4 ICS

The only way to tell if it will work on your tablet is to attempt a flash.

I did manage to install CWM using SausageMod script made primarily for A10 devices, but it is not working properly - no back option and volume down is not working. Nandroid backup was also stuck at generating MD5 sum and I my tablet was unable to mount SD card after that so I had to reformat it in windows. Anyway I used a tool (bat script) that you posted on other thread to backup firmware and it worked. Do I need to use LiveSuite to flash these dumped files eventually or some other tool?

Great!

Installation:
1. Open LiveSuit 1.09 or 1.11BETA
2. Select the image file packaged in the release.
3. With your tablet powered off hold volume up
Do not release the volume button, and insert the usb
cable into the tablet computer.
4. LiveSuit will detect the tablet and ask you what to do.
5. Make a choice to flash it or bail, this choice is yours.

I have a custom 120DPI Jelly Bean ROM running on the A13 right now version 4.1.1 + lsmod fixes, its not stable enough for a release yet but it will be released soon enough.

Pictures of the MID A13 running JellyBean 4.1.X coming very soon along with the much larger and cleaner desktop/screen

This 4.0.X ROM will be maintained for any major updates however I am now working on a 4.1 jelly bean rom initial images can be seen below.
