[SOLVED] galaxy tab 8.9 problems

hi i bought a tab 8.9 but am having some problems which i hope u guys can solve.

1st prob: i added my husband's name in contacts but only the telephone number appears when we text each other

2nd prob: i have added a gmail and yahoo acc to my email, however when i wanted to add another email which is a yahoo account, it keeps saying wrong username or password. i tried logging in with the same acc n pw on my iphone but was able to log in

Number 1 - Did you enter the full number (including area code)? If not, it may not work.

Number 2 - Are you adding this through the GMail app, the Email app or through Settings - Accounts
I would suggest adding it through Settings - Accounts as an Email account. I have not had any issues adding Yahoo! accounts to Android so long as the password is correct.

Finally, I moved this to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 forum so other 8.9 owners will find it easier.

Hi frederuco, thank u so much! Problem 1 is solved!! However i still have problems with problem 2..i tried adding thru settings as email account but it says pw or username incorrect, it is fine when i add it as a yahoo acc though.. However, the prob with that is that it doesnt appear on my socialhub widgets when i add it as yahoo account

The only thing I can suggest is to check your yahoo settings such that POP or IMAP is enabled. I know you said it works on your phone, but tablets have a different user agent and it may be rejecting it through the Email client because of this.

But the thing is that i managed to setup one yahoo account, i have no idea y it keeps being rejected for the 2nd acc...its driving me crazy!!

Try setting your 2nd one up as an IMAP using the same settings as the first, just different username and password.
