hello,
I followed exactly the steps above, says it is already root but does not let me install some software that require superuser rights....can you tell me another way to root it?
in software moborobo sees connected, everything seems ok .....but i don't know what to do.
Thanks,
BR,
Eugen

Hi eugen75,

Would you advise on the name of the software? Have you tried to install the APK directly?

Hi,
I am trying to root my UG802, but the laptop I'm using (Acer, Win 7) does not recognize the UG802 when I connect it with a cable.

I did install moborobo. The problem is that I cannot move to the next step because the laptop does not recognize the device.

I have tried multiple combinations of power state & UG802 to laptop configurations:
1) UG802 power off, USB to USB
2) UG802 power on, USB to USB
3) UG802 power on, microUSB to USB
4) Also tried connecting the USB and the microUSB ports on the UG802 to the same laptop - no joy.

Then I also tried using the wifi mode to connect by sideloading the mobo daemon and connecting from moborobo. this worked, but SUperOneClick does not seem to work through wireless.

---------
I basically want to install netflix, kindle, etc apps from the marketplace - but currently androind marketplace disallows it. I expect rooting it to enable me to do so. Please correct me if I am wrong. Also, if there's a simpler way for me to get these apps (side load?) ; where are the apks available?

Finally, I loaded xbmc, it works fine with local USB connected media files, but streaming from the web is rather flaky. using bluecop's free cable add on barely works once in 10 attempts. My wifi strength seems ok, but i'm rapidly giving up hope for the ug802 as my one streaming media device...

please advise

thanks
-a noob
