Wi-fi will not turn on

Hello,

The agony of defeat, I just received a generic A13-MID tablet and when I attempt to turn WI-FI on the message 'turning WI-FI on" appears, nothing happens and the WI-FI switch goes off. I'm thinking it's a problem with the signal from the tablet, it's ready to go back to China. However is their anything I should do, short of opening it up or throwing it into the canal, thank you.

I'm afraid that pretty much all the times I have heard that specific problem it resulted in a repair. It is probably a hardware problem.
