Wifi internet

Hi, I hope someone can help me. I'm using my Nokia N8 with JoikuSpot app to create a wifi hotspot. I connect my laptop, xbox360 ect. through it and find it very convenient. Today I bought a COBY KYROS MID7036-4 with ICS 4.0. But it doesn't see the network and I can't connect to the internet with it. Is there anything I can do? This is my first android gadget and I'm totally in the dark.

If you go to settings - WiFi, you don't even see it?

No, nothing at all.

Have you tried to see if you can see any other WiFi, maybe a neighbor or a public hotspot? There must be an explanation somewhere.

Yes, it sees my neighbour's network, and i'm using the N8 & Joikuspot with the PC i'm using right now.

Not having used that I'm out of options short of trying a restart on the phone.
