Need a root solution for Mid7022

Yes, i need to learn more, i will

Let me know if you want me to test something for you

Thanks for your time, i will report back in case i get a original LK into my hands, debating right now with level 2 support of coby

They tell me to send it back and they will send me another one but i want to keep this one, has a very good screen, no bleeding, no dead pixels, no HW problems whatswhoever

yup if you can get original lk.rom for 7022, it will help this and future accident :)
coby's support stuff may not know technical thing about lk.rom, but they should be able to ask their factory about it.

good luck!

i can try, i found a guy from LVL2 support who talks to me

Tommorow i will linger to Toys R US and get another one, u guys know, is there a way to extract the rom ?

I found this resource Index of /romdump , i tested it, does not work , looks its a older version, i wonder if they work on a update, i cant find the email address from the developer, i would contact him

I just noticed, romdumo would only have dumped BOOT, RECOVERY and SYSTEM , that does include MD0 Layer... there must be a way to extract the data from MD0

I am sorry if sometimes it does not make sense what i am saying, i am a tech and i did that stuff 15 years ago , with Amiga's and blueboxing and other mod's, i learn on my way, i try to put everything together but there is so much "wrong" info out there, getting confused sometimes

any idea how extraction can be done otherwise ?

Just to be absolutely clear, does this mean that it is not necessary to install CyanogenMod in order to root the Kyros 7022?

No do not install cm7!!! You just need clockword mod recovery

Got my MID7022 rooted and ClockWorkMod installed. Works great. Just follow Fun's direction to the letter. I can't thank you enough, Fun. I bricked my 7024 by following bad advice. I was a little more particular with the 7022. I am a happy user, now.

Im new to this. Does clockworkmod=honeycomb? Can we get honeycomb on the 7022?

Clockworkmod is a replacement for the stock recovery. In there you can backup your current rom (stock 2.3.3) and also flash custom released roms such as honeycomb as well as obtain root access. However at this time no custom rom exists that works correctly. If coby or telechips would release a kernel source then someone would probably develop honeycomb

The tablet is still pretty new so hopefully we can expect custom roms in the future. Even the mid7015 has a honeycomb rom out.

This method is temporary root, is there a way to get perm root done ? any ideas ?

/system is R/O and needs to be R/W manually

not complaining, just want to know if anyone got perm root done yet

Not sure what is permanent root and temporary root. Rootcheck says I have root. SU works. I have full access to all files and folders, I kind of like having to manually mount as r/w.
