Hi i bought the aishou a820 and rooted it. Is there any custom ROMs available or any good firmware updates? tablet works pretty well but couse fix some errors

hi. i just got my 820 yesterday too. i like it, its just cell radio kills and drain my battery and netflix isnt working (mcbub said it runs netflix smoothly). anyway, its my new tablet so im kinda new to rooting. i already saw your link 816 minipad root. i just have questions.
1. if i root my tab, do i need to install a custom rom/firmware like froyo 2.2 or 2.3 etc, or rooting just gives you permission to read/write some system files?
2. i read that i should rename phone.apk for the cell radio to turn off, rooting will give me this power right?
3. whats the advantage of rooting?
4. and lastly bro, is your netflix working? what version?
